Artist Talk My Crooked Neighbour. A contribution to ‘Forests of the Future’ by Dominik Fleischmann

You are cordially invited to come and see the Artist Talk by Dominik Fleischmann about his artistic research on the wonders of dying trees and alternative photography processes.

WEDNESDAY 9 SEPTEMBER AT 6 PM LIVE & STREAMED

Rotting heartwood, hollow stems, falling branches and leafless crowns. One would think of this as the end. However life inside the tree has already long returned. An alliance of fungi and woodpeckers are among the first to cherish a withering giant. Animals and plants in all of their forms and glory crawl and fly around and in the remains of undying magnificence.

Let trees fade as they grew, slowly and steady, in the midst of all who depended on their being and found by all who are depending on their dying.

Let trees die the way they lived. With infinite grace and infinite patience, nurturing and providing for the life they’ve created.

Unlike most of us rootless creatures, trees keep on giving even with a rotten heart.
